Insurance Administrative Support
Location: Remote / Hybrid – Blue Bell, PA
Status: Contractor; Hourly rate - $20
Position Overview:
We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and reliable Administrative Support professional to join our team. This individual will be responsible for managing insurance billing, credentialing, and licensure processes for our registered dietitians (RDs) delivering nutrition counseling services. The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare administration and a strong understanding of insurance processes and licensure requirements. They will work closely with the Provider Development Director to ensure compliance with insurance policies and the appropriate licensure of all registered dietitians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Insurance Billing:
- Manage and submit insurance claims for nutrition counseling services provided by registered dietitians.
- Work with insurance companies to resolve billing issues and ensure accurate payments.
- Track and follow up on outstanding claims and payments to ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain accurate records of insurance billing and claims status.
- Review and ensure insurance coverage for each client before counseling sessions take place.
- Credentialing:
- Manage the credentialing process for registered dietitians with insurance providers and healthcare organizations.
- Ensure that all required documentation, forms, and applications are submitted in a timely manner.
- Track and maintain credentialing records and expiration dates to ensure RDs remain in-network with insurance providers.
- Monitor and address any discrepancies or issues related to the credentialing status.
- Licensure:
- Ensure all registered dietitians maintain up-to-date licensure in accordance with state and national regulations.
- Track license renewals and provide reminders for upcoming renewals to RDs.
- Coordinate with RDs to ensure all required continuing education and other licensure requirements are met.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of licensure status.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the registered dietitians, insurance providers, and healthcare organizations regarding billing, credentialing, and licensure issues.
- Collaborate with the Provider Development Director to support the team of RDs in managing insurance and licensure requirements.
- Communicate effectively with RDs to ensure they are aware of upcoming deadlines or issues related to billing, credentialing, and licensure.
- General Administrative Support:
- Assist with administrative tasks related to the onboarding and maintenance of registered dietitians.
- Ensure that all required documentation and records are organized and filed according to company policies and legal regulations.
- Assist with additional administrative duties as needed to support the overall team and operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare management, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in healthcare administration, particularly related to billing, credentialing, and licensure, is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of insurance billing processes and experience with healthcare insurance providers.
- Familiarity with the credentialing process for healthcare providers, particularly for registered dietitians.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and manage sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other administrative tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
